Meet and Greet
The purpose of this interview is for us to get to know each other. I’d be happy to meet you at your favorite coffee shop, pizza place, or your go-to park bench. I want to make sure that you are comfortable. I will go over my role as your doula and your advocate for before, during, and after your birth. This interview is completely free to you and is a chance for us to get to know each other on a deeper level.
2 Prenatal Visits
After you hire me as your birth doula we will have one to two prenatal meetings. These meetings really help prepare you and your birth partner for the labor ahead. We will discuss your birth preferences and what the ideal birth looks like for you. I will explain to you and your partner a variety of comfort techniques that can be used while you are laboring at home. We will find a good medium of how we will work together during labor.
Once I am your doula, I will be your support 24/7. When you believe you are going into labor, call me immediately, even if you don’t think you need me yet. I can make suggestions, answer questions, and prompt you and your partner over the phone. It’s a good idea to call me an hour before you feel you’ll need me at your home or at the birthing location of your choice, so I can be there to support you and your partner throughout the labor and birthing process.
I take on one to two clients per month. This gives me the ability to make you my top priority. Once you and I sign a contract I will be there for you before, during, and after your labor. Please do not hesitate to pick up the phone to call, text, or email me. I am here for you during your journey.
Baby is home and you are ready to begin your new life as a parent. I will come to visit you and your new family once or twice after your baby is born. The purpose of these meetings is to review your labor from the beginning, have an accurate picture of what happened during your labor, and everything in between. I am here to help and to see how everyone is adjusting to your new normal.
Everybody needs a community that can help them thrive. This is a new time in your life and sometimes things can be confusing. Sometimes you need to cry, laugh, and vent, with people who understand what you are going through. Maybe you need advice on breastfeeding or looking to join a PostPartum group with local parents. I have a list of local resources that can help you with whatever you are looking for.
I also am available for virtual doula services. These services include:
providing guidance, relaxation, and coping skills, helping to answer questions, helping to formulate questions for care providers, and everything in between. This can be done via phone call, zoom meeting, skype, or any online video service.
