As a Doula, I Do Not
Perform any clinical tasks
My role as your doula is to support you emotionally and physically during labor and to suggest comfort techniques to you and your partner. I do not perform any clinical tasks such as vaginal examinations or fetal heart rate checks.
Make decisions for you
I am here to help you advocate for yourself and your baby. I am happy to help you make evidence-based decisions. At the end of the day, this is your baby and your body. I am here to help with any issues that may arise and support you.
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
This journey is yours, and the family that you are beginning. I am here for you and whatever your needs are. Any beliefs I may have will not interfere with how you are treated and how your birth story will be told.
